The one that got away. The sound of geese always gets my pulse racing, nothing more stunning than their beautiful formation flying and their haunting calls. Love you shot
Beautiful! Makes me sad to see the geese leave, but it always amazes me, too. So many mysteries there…
Love also the left-behind corn, like offerings made to the gods of farmers everywhere. Gratitude for the gathering, and a gift to those remaining through the seasonal shift…
I live in a suburb where geese who arrived years ago settled on what we call the Duck Pond. They fly around in their vee’s and then go back to the Pond. There are a pair of renegade geese who live near me on a lot once inhabited by buildings. They fly and honk to their own drum beat. Such is evolution.
A little while back, Seattle authorities had to “relocate” some geese that had settled in at the city’s Green Lake and had begun to aggressively attack the joggers and strollers on the walking path.
It looks like a coconut is growing in the field 😉

Ah, to be as free as the geese and follow the food and weather rather than be a slave to it. Nice picture

Cycles.
I love to see and hear in the geese in flight.

There’s something reassuring watching and hearing the geese in their cyclic migration.

Dunno the real reason why those few corn stalks were left behind, but I sure do like the defiant look. The few … the proud … the unreaped!
