seems like ages now
been bent over this hot stove
order up!
the menu hasn’t changed
since who knows when
so i guess it’s a lot like me
order up!
they say there’s a strength in keeping to the old ways
all i know
is there ain’t no pause
when that lunch crowd comes around
Oh! Most excellent. It make me feel hot and tired. 🙂

Although this entry isn’t tagged with photography, I can’t avert my eyes from the moss-clad trees. They have a soothing effect. (Which is probably not intentional 🙂 )

I like this one. My son has just got his first job as a waiter in a restaurant that never changes its menus. He hates it already.

hate is always a good starting motivator to further one’s education. 😉

We’re hoping it might push him in that direction 🙂

if they would only listen to reason…but, alas, one is forced to rely on more subtle and devious means.

I can so relate to this direct poem with so many layers. I worked my way through college waiting tables in various restaurants and I remember the cooks behind the counter and was glad to be out on the floor having conversations with the customers. Your comment, though, on how this feels like the election, I can certainly relate to that too. Just a few hours more now…

Time is going very slow right now…glad that it came off with a note of authenticity regarding “diner life”
